The World Day of Social Justice, observed annually on February 20th, serves as a global reminder of the pressing need for social justice and equality for all.
This day highlights the importance of addressing systemic issues such as poverty, inequality, and discrimination, and emphasises the principles of fairness, justice, and human rights. By promoting dialogue and raising awareness, the World Day of Social Justice encourages individuals, communities, and governments to take concrete actions to eradicate barriers that prevent equal opportunities. It serves as a rallying point for collective efforts to build inclusive societies regardless of background or identity. Through advocacy and initiatives on this day, we strive to create a world where social justice is not just an aspiration but a reality for every individual.
In essence, the World Day of Social Justice and our journals, Third World Quarterly and Central Asian Survey, all commit to addressing systemic issues, advocating for justice and equality, and promoting the universal realisation of human rights. They serve as platforms for raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and encouraging proactive measures to create more just and equitable societies worldwide.
