The community resources section of the Global Souths Hub sources and shares information to support you with your research. Below are funds and awards you can apply for, as well as events, podcasts and magazines that focus on topics relevant to Global South Studies.

Fund:
Global South Colloquium Fund
Set up by Third World Quarterly (TWQ), providing support for meetings and travel grants, especially for Early Career Researchers from the Global Souths. The Global South Colloquium Fund is now considering new rounds of funding for 2024-25.
Awards and Prizes:
- Edward Said Award – An annual award set up by the Global Development Studies (GDS) of International Studies Association recognising outstanding Graduate Research.
- The Irene Hilgers Memorial Prize – An annual prize awarded to an early career scholar, who has made a significant contribution to Central Asian Studies.
- Kassahun Checole Prize – A prize for the best and most innovative article submitted in the field of African Studies. The cash prize will be awarded from
2025.
Events:
- Anthony Hyman Memorial Lecture – An annual event at SOAS since 2003 with a reception sponsored by Central Asian Survey.
