Global Souths Hub Best Contribution Prize

We are delighted to announce the launch of our Global Souths Hub Best Contribution Prize.

The entries are judged by a panel of experts, and the winner will receive prize money along with further promotion of their blog piece. The recipient will benefit from enhanced discoverability, as well as engaging with researchers and scholars as part of the Hub’s dissemination process.

Purpose of the Prize

The Global Souths Hub Best Contribution Prize celebrates outstanding work that enriches the field of Global South Studies. This annual prize honours scholarship that fosters new ways of thinking, challenges dominant narratives, and amplifies voices and perspectives from across the Global Souths.

This initiative highlights insightful and thought-provoking contributions that engage with the complexities of the Global Souths. By recognising a standout piece each year, the Hub seeks to deepen engagement, dialogue, and collaboration.

Eligibility

The prize is open to:

  • Scholar-activists, researchers, policymakers and practitioners, as well as anyone interested in the Global Souths’ diverse countries and cultures, politics, and histories.
  • Articles that are published on the Global Souths Hub written by external contributors – event write-ups, Q&As, expert opinion pieces, research snapshots, community engagement initiatives and more – are welcome.

Submissions are open to students, early-career researchers and established scholars. Submissions may be in English or accompanied by a translation if in another language. Find out more about how to contribute to the Hub.
