Global South Colloquium Fund

Set up by Third World Quarterly (TWQ), providing support for meetings and travel grants, especially for Early Career Researchers from the Global Souths. The Global South Colloquium Fund is now considering new rounds of funding for 2024-25.

Awards and Prizes:

  • Edward Said Award – An annual award set up by the Global Development Studies (GDS) of International Studies Association recognising outstanding Graduate Research.
  • The Irene Hilgers Memorial Prize – An annual prize awarded to an early career scholar, who has made a significant contribution to Central Asian Studies.
  • Kassahun Checole Prize – A prize for the best and most innovative article submitted in the field of African Studies. The cash prize will be awarded from
