About
Mira Mookerjee holds a BA in English and Russian Civilisation from the University of Leeds and an MA with Distinction in Creative Writing from Brunel University. Prior to working for the Global Souths Hub she worked in Marketing and Communications and has a wealth of knowledge in the charity and arts sector.
Mira’s creative and journalistic writing has been published in S/He Speaks: Voices of Women and Trans Folx, by the International Human Rights Arts Movement, in WOWZINE, the Journal of Fair Trade, Azeema Magazine, Poetry and Audience, and more. Her writing largely focuses on pre-colonial histories, shifting identities and migration. She is one of six editors to create and publish Borderless, a tribute anthology to late Brunel University Professor Benjamin Zephaniah. The anthology included an introduction by Bernardine Evaristo and shared the work of twenty-six emerging writers from Brunel. She is currently working on her debut novel and is one of the twenty shortlisted writers for the #Merky Books New Writers Prize.
