Paolo Sorbello is a Book Review Editor for Central Asian Survey and an Adjunct Professor at Narxoz University, Kazakhstan. He is also an editor at Vlast.kz, Kazakhstan’s leading independent news outlet.
Dr Sorbello obtained a PhD degree in Eurasian Studies from the University of Glasgow, UK. He later completed a three-year post-doc at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy. His research interests include labor in Kazakhstan’s oil sector and the political economy of oil. Because of his journalism practice, he also focuses on political communication and mass media, as well as fact-checking.
