About

Dr David Green FAcSS has been in academic and scientific publishing since 1978, and was previously Global Journals Publishing Director at Taylor & Francis Group (T&F)/Routledge. David is a fully accredited NCTJ-qualified journalist, and has founded Knowledge & Impact Strategy Services Ltd, to act as a publishing consultancy. It provides strategic advice to individual journals, small publishing businesses and publication owners. It also offers a knowledge brokerage capacity to promote knowledge mobilisation and dissemination. The company mission is to promote the real-world relevance and practicality of research.

David represented T&F on a number of industry bodies. He was a member of the Steering Group of the Publishing Research Consortium (PRC), funded by industry trade bodies and the major publishing companies, generating independent research on matters important for the future of journals publishing. He has also been a member of the STM Association Reference Group on Sharing and Scholarly Collaboration Networks, and a member of the Policy Committee of the UK Publishers Association.

David has always looked to support international expansion and outreach of global academic content. He was the prime mover in setting up an Australian journals programme in 1994, and founded the T&F Africa programme, reintegrating South African research back into the global academic and scientific mainstream in the post-apartheid years. He also instituted T&F journal operations in New Delhi, Singapore and more widely in Asia-Pacific, as well as managing Scandinavian journal operations after the acquisition of Scandinavian Universities Press. David is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences
